Guest Lecturer at the University of Tourism and Management, Mr. Goran Trajkovski, General Manager of the Public Revenue, Republic of Macedonia
On March 19th 2013, within the program of the University of Tourism and Management Skopje, for inviting guest lecturers, in addition of widening the knowledge of our students, as well as, experience in this field, guest lecturer at UTMS was Mr. Goran Trajkovski, General Manager of the Public Revenue in Republic of Macedonia.
The opening remarks at this occasion were held by Chancellor of the University of Tourism and Management Dr. Ace Milenkovski, PhD. The significant importance of this lecture, as he said, is the special contribution and information in this field especially on the students of the Faculty of economics, but also for all other students from the different faculties within the University.
The lecture started with the presentation and introduction regarding the process of functioning of the Public Revenue in Republic of Macedonia as an integral part of the Ministry of Finance. Mr.Trajkovski, had presentation on the main activities of this institution, as a model for professionally organized public sector, in accordance with the EU standards. The ethical code of the employee’s behavior is one of the most important due to this process.
Within the process of modernization, the Public Revenue, as an institution is functioning between the values of “expectations and possibilities” Mr. Trajkovski explained the procedure of creating money funds and the budget of Republic of Macedonia. In this context, he pointed out the need of strengthen the administrative capacity.
Especially, very influential changes in this area that are determinate by the process of globalization and the world economic changes are the reason for monitoring the financial processes of the national economies within the different countries. Regarding the financial criminals there are still weaknesses in some countries.
Especially notable are financial crimes regarding Value added taxes (VAT) by showing forged documents and an illegal activities. In order to deal with scams, the Public Revenue work on the strengthen capacities by introduction of special criteria or filters, for detecting the fictional transactions. For this purpose, the special role in the process of detecting the financial crime has the forensic lab, especially for enabling the numerous information’s, due to the process of detecting tax evasion.
As a one of the very impressive lectures, after the closing remarks, the students had an opportunity for discussions and questions related to this and similar issues in this field.
The importance of the presentation of Mr. Goran Trajkovski, is connected with each individual or company, regarding the obligation for paying taxes. The analysis of the system of paying taxes is especially useful for anyone who plans to deal with the future business activities.
