Hungarian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Joseph Bencze, had lecture at UTMS, Republic of Macedonia for tourism development in Hungary.
“Hungary is a country located in the heart of Europe with a relatively strong economic growth and high potential for tourism development”. The ambassador of Hungary H.E. Mr. Josef Bencze, PhD, through his lecture at the University of Tourism and Management Skopje, presented Hungary as a tourist destination. As a part of the established practice for participation of guest lecturers, Mr.Bence had a presentation in many aspects, especially the cultural and economic aspect of the country, as well as the most important aspects of the tourism potential.
The Ambassador of Hungary Dr. Joseph Bencze, began his presentation stressing that his country has excellent highway’s infrastructure with a connection on regional and international airport. Hungary is a country with strong economic growth that continuously increases in order to keep up with the European Union. He highlighted that, four billion euros are earned from tourism as a result of several factors, including what he called, the extraordinary work of National Tourist Office which functions as an integral part of the Ministry of Economy of Hungary. This office practically manage tourism in Hungary, where in the last period, particular attention is paid to health and “green" economy. "
Giving a full geographic tourist map of his country, the Ambassador Dr. Joseph Benz, highlighted several features that represent potential for development of tourism in Hungary, including the existence of thousands of natural hot springs, hundreds of thermal springs with water, hundreds of healthcare and spa hotels, and several therapeutic potentials.
As a special segment of tourism in Hungary, the Ambassador Bence point out the spa tourism, naming his country as the capital of spa tourism in Europe. In terms of cooperation with the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Bencze point out that they are working on it, but in order for this cooperation our country should pay special attention on transit tourism, primarily because of the fact that large number of Hungarian tourists spend their holidays in Greece. In this context he mentioned the Hungarian WIZZ air low budget airline company, which allows Macedonian tourists to travel around European capitals at low cost. In order to have better connection between Macedonia and Hungary, the Ambassador Joseph Bencze point out that special attention should be paid to the work of the Atlas travel agency in Hungary, which organizes student exchange between the two countries.
In addition, despite the Ambassador, Mr. Erwin Szel, economic adviser, had a speech within the presentation. He presented through statistics the growth of the economy of their country.
On behalf of the Chancellor of University of Tourism and Management Professor Ace Milenkovski, PhD, the delegation of Hungarian Embassy, was also welcomed by the Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation Professor. Zoran Ivanovski, PhD and Professor Dimitar Bojadzieski, who pointed out that their presence at the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje is very important for the students, because through this lecture they were able to get a complete picture of Hungary.
Dean of the Faculty of Tourism at UTMS, Sasko Gramatnikovski informed that the idea of inviting the ambassadors in Macedonia stemmed from their curriculum “Travel destination”. Within this curriculum the most important tourist destinations in the world are studied. ”In addition the Hungarian ambassador represented their country in the most convenient way, because they are competent and they know how to do it in order to bring the country to its students,” said Gramatnikovski.
“I would like to prove that tourism could not only be learned from books and definitions, but through such practical examples like this one, when students can learn about particular information’s regarding travel destinations” said Gramatnikovski.
