On April 26, 2018, at the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje, a NATO Conference was held on the topic: "Work locally, act nationally, think globally" organized by the Center for Economic Policy, Analysis and Consulting, CEPAC sponsored by NATO and the Directorate for public diplomacy.
The purpose of the Conference was to inform about what it means to be a NATO member and the benefits of our country if we become part of NATO. High-ranking officials, former and current eminent guests, including: Prof. Stevo Pendarovski PhD, NATO representative from the Republic of Macedonia, General Miroslav Stojanovski (former Chief of the General Staff of the ARM) and adviser to the Minister of Public Defense of the Republic of Macedonia. Macedonia, NATO representatives from Brussels and Macedonia, experienced people from this area. For the significance of the strategic communications and informing, his presentation had a Assoc. Prof Valentina Mucunska Palevska from the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje. Students from the University of Tourism and Management who attended the Conference also had the opportunity to get direct information and learn from the best. They gained knowledge of NATO's cooperation with the partners and the future challenges, NATO's importance for Macedonia, and Macedonia's ability to contribute to NATO. They also became familiar with the importance of NATO's open door policy.
Students at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tourism and Management also attended the conference, which enabled students to obtain direct information on the economic benefits of joining the NATO Alliance. They gained knowledge of NATO's co-operation as well as what NATO's open door policy is. At the Conference students from the Faculty of Economics at UTMS actively participated in panel discussion.
